CLASSICAL SCULPTURES ARE...

AUGMENTED REALITY (AR)

Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that superimposes digital content onto the real world, creating immersive user experiences – technology used in various fields, including entertainment, education, and advertising. In recent years, designers have been using AR to create new ways of experiencing classical sculptures. It’s not just AR changing how we experience classical sculptures. The metaverse is a virtual world where users can interact with each other and digital content in real-time.

Eduard Locota has been working with digital 3D modeling software for over 20 years now, and this is the first time he has combined his digital 3D skills with his physical skills to give birth to this radical new collection, representing the past, present, and future using well-known sculptures like David, Venus, Minerva, Moses or Laocoon.

“I Classici” was presented at the Milan Design Week as an innovative collection in which classical sculpture, contemporary design elements, and augmented reality coexist. The event has been in the design industry for over five decades, showcasing the latest innovations and trends in furniture, lighting, textiles, and decorative items – and attracting design lovers, curators, and sector insiders from all over the globe.
