HOLDING ON TABLE
IN “HOLDING ON TABLE,” STELIOS MOUSARRIS PRESENTS A FUNCTIONAL ARTWORK THAT TRANSCENDS MERE UTILITY, EMBEDDING PROFOUND METAPHORICAL RESONANCE WITHIN ITS STRUCTURE. DRAWING FROM CHARIS TOULOURAS’ EVOCATIVE REFLECTION, “PEOPLE MADE OF GOLD, EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE THUS FEW, ARE DESTINED TO CARRY THE WORLD FORWARD WITH ALL ITS BURDENS AND DARKNESS,” MOUSARRIS CAPTURES THIS SENTIMENT THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF SOLID BRONZE FIGURES.
