“MIRA LAMP,” AN EVOCATIVE LIGHT INSTALLATION BY CATRINEL SABACIAG, PRESENTS A PROFOUND EXPLORATION OF ENTROPY AND IMPERMANENCE, DELVING INTO THE COMPLEX INTERPLAY BETWEEN HUMAN PRESENCE AND THE BEHAVIOR OF OBJECTS AND LIGHT. ABOUT THE ARTIST
Catrinel’s work is driven by my interests in perception and movement, with recurring themes of time perception, entropy, light, and nature. Through her interactive objects, the artist offers experiences that challenge perception and visualize the invisible forces around us in an engaging manner. This recontextualizes reality, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.
The creation of ambiguous objects that seems to appear to shift and change depending on the viewer’s perspective. This practice engages the viewer, making them a co-creator of the experience. Ideally, it serves as a journey of self-reflection.
